It doesn’t get much bigger than having music legend Paul McCartney give your team a shout out.

McCartney gave the Cowboys some love during his concert Monday night at American Airlines Center. While bantering with the audience between songs, the former Beatle gave an enthusiastic, "How ’bout them Cowboys!"

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett was flattered when told this during his Wednesday press conference.

"I think it’s fantastic," Garrett said. "He’s certainly an iconic figure on this planet and has been for nearly 50 years now. I’m certainly a big fan."

Garrett is a devoted Bruce Springsteen fan. However, he wrote his thesis at Princeton on Bob Dylan, so he obviously has an appreciation for the legendary musical artists from the 1960s.

Garrett was asked if even half his players know who McCartney is.

"If they don’t know about him they should know about him, because he’s certainly made a huge difference on this planet for the last half a century," Garrett said. "He’s something else. I think that’s a nice thing for us."
