Bradford rolls; Baylor tops Oklahoma 4-0 in Big 12 tourney

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Cody Bradford threw 7 2/3 shutout innings to help No. 5 seed Baylor defeat No. 4 seed Oklahoma 4-0 in the Big 12 baseball tournament opener Wednesday.

Bradford, the Big 12 Pitcher of the Year, gave up four hits and struck out 11 for the Bears (33-19).

Baylor's Richard Cunningham knocked in the game's first run on a single that scored Nick Loftin. Shea Langeliers later singled and brought Cunningham in to push the lead to 2-0. Cole Haring scored on a wild pitch with the bases loaded in the top of the eighth, then cranked a solo homer in the top of the ninth to put Baylor up 4-0.

Oklahoma starter Jake Irvin, an All-Big 12 first-team selection, went five innings and gave up two unearned runs. He allowed five hits and struck out six for the Sooners (34-22).
