Help us decide the greatest player in ACC history

Who is the greatest football player in ACC history? Over the next 13 weeks, you can help us decide.’s ACC Gridiron LIVE Greatest Player Tournament pits 64 of the conference’s legends — a field that includes 32 offensive and 32 defensive players — in an NCAA tourney-style format. Put together by our writers, it’s now in the hands of the fans.


The proceedings are dominated by Florida State, which boasts 14 players, including two of the offense’s No. 1 seeds in Heisman Trophy-winning quarterbacks Charlie Ward and Chris Weinke. Clemson has 11 players in the tourney, headlined by No. 2 seed C.J. Spiller and not to be outdone, North Carolina has defense No. 1 seed Lawrence Taylor, along with five other players.

Fans now have the chance to fill out their own brackets and save them to Facebook, then beginning Sept. 3, come back, help us decided who advances each week in the tournament and stack your own bracket against America’s votes.

On the Sept. 3 episode of ACC Gridiron LIVE, airing at 10 p.m. ET on FOX Sports South, we will begin releasing a set number of votable matchups and, you, the fans, will have a week to submit your votes on The process will continue until we reveal the winner of the ACC Gridiron LIVE Greatest Player Tournament on the Nov. 19 episode.
