Landon Donovan joins ownership group trying to bring MLS expansion team to San Diego

Landon Donovan has joined the ownership group trying to bring an MLS team to San Diego. MLS has said they will add 4 more teams, expanding to 28 clubs total And San Diego is among the 12 cities in the mix for one of those teams. Donovan made a short comeback from retirement in the final months of last season But he hasn't joined a team for this season and looks set to go back into retirement. Ownership would be a way for him to stay in the sport, and in MLS, even if he never plays again
