Matchday 27 highlights between Borussia Dortmund and Hannover 96.

[FANS SINGING] ANNOUNCER: Things had not going according to plan for Dortmund in their previous game in the Europa League, but Michy Batshuayi had seen off a spirited Frankfurt side in the league the previous weekend and was in the same frame of mind for this game against mid-table Hannover. A furious opening minute saw the Belgian striker latch on to an André Schurrle pass. But a swift reaction from Philipp Tschauner in the Hannover goal and the post denied Dortmund the early lead. Dortmund were noticeably highly motivated right from the first whistle.

23 minutes in, with Dortmund still on the front foot, André Schurrle's tricky corner very nearly deceived the Hannover keeper. Tschauner, though, made the right decision to take no chances. The resulting corner was out of the textbook. With Hannover marking zonely, the ball came to Batshuayi, who edged it into the corner, giving Tschauner next to no reaction time. It was a deserved lead for a Dortmund side keen on making up for the disappointment of their international competition exit.

Hannover were not without their bright moments. Pirmin Schwegler very nearly equalized before the break. Roman Burki, though, had little to do in the first 45. Batshuayi was the difference-- six goals and an assist in seven Bundesliga games, an outstanding start to his Bundesliga career.

And the home side started the second half as they did the first-- aware, no doubt, of letting Frankfurt back into the game the previous week. They upped their efforts on goal, but found Philipp Tschauner equal to all they threw at him. Just past the hour, Hannover exposed an area where the home side had been fallible in recent months and went close to getting an equalizer through Marvin Bakalorz. But Burki was on point. André Breitenreiter's team were not quite producing the input needed to swing the game.

In the last minute, as it did in the first, the aluminum came to Hannover's aid to keep the score at 1-0. Substitute Maximilian Philipp did everything right except hit the target. There was a final chance just after for Batshuayi to get his second brace in a row in the league, but Tschauner was there once more for the visitors.

A narrow but deserved win for Dortmund and their goal-getter, Michy Batshuayi.
