ANNOUNCER 1: There's something about facing Werder Bremen that brings the best out of Augsburg striker Michael Gregoritsch. He scored six against them in five games, including a brace in the reverse fixture. But it was Bremen who started the better, and inside four minutes, Ishak Belfodil bamboozled Martin Hinteregger with a mesmeric piece of skill before unerringly finding the bottom corner.

The Algerian restored to the starting line up by coach Florian Kohfeldt, and with telling effect. The last eight Bremen goals have been scored by eight different players, but that run ended 40 minutes in when Belfodil got his second from Max Kruse's intelligent early pass. A bit of luck with the ricochet, maybe, but the man on loan from Standard [INAUDIBLE] only got 1 in 21 games before this. So who cares how they go in?

2-nil at the break and pretty much all his own work. Augsburg were more effective after the restart and got back in it just after the hour. Phillip Max the supplier as Rani Khedira arrived bang on cue. His first [INAUDIBLE] goal in his 42nd match.

And in a pulsated last quarter of the game, the otherwise anonymous Gregoritsch saw his free kick pushed onto the post by Jiri Pavlenka. An outstanding save from the Czech, who had a restricted view of the shot.

But Belfodil turned creator for Max Kruse to settle matters eight minutes from time. Only the striker's sixth of the season, but hardly the finish of an out of form player. His first strike for six weeks, and it means just one defeat now in seven games for a team that has gone from relegation candidates to being virtually safe. For once, Gregoritsch didn't have things his own way against Bremen, but a great day for Belfodil-- his side winners by three goals to one.
