Watch Matchday 22 highlights between Stuttgart and Monchengladbach.

- There was a reminder of earlier glories for Stuttgart fans before kickoff with players and staff from the team that won the Bundesliga Title in 2007. On it, Christian Gentner and Mario Gomez were both part of that group. And the pair combined on the pitch to send Daniel Ginczek through. He marked his first Bundesliga start since November with the opening goal after just five minutes to reward a very positive start from the home side.

Gladbach started sluggishly and were easily second best until around midway through the first period. Although they should have drawn level when Ron-Robert Zieler's block from Jonas Hoffman fell to Thorgan Hazard. And there wasn't too much action [INAUDIBLE] to digest in the opening 45 minutes at the Mercedes-Benz arena.

Gladbach were much improved after the interval. And halftime substitute, Raphael, had one of a handful of chances the visitors created. But Zieler made a smart save from the Brazilian to keep Tayfon Korkut on course for a first win as Stuttgart coach in his maiden home game in charge.

Another Borussia sub then went close, 11 minutes from full time. But Josip Drmic couldn't quite get his angles right, as Gladbach headed towards a third consecutive defeat and third straight game without finding the net. Stuttgart had only managed one win from their previous nine Bundesliga matches. Santiago Ascacibar had the chance to wrap it up and avoid a nervy finish. But he failed to hit the target, with two minutes left to play. It didn't matter in the end, though, as Stuttgart held on. And Korkut made it four points from two games at the helm.
