Zlatan Ibrahimovic offers a sneak peek of his giant, half-naked statue

Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave us a first glimpse of the statue that will be erected of him in Stockholm, and the Manchester United star’s Instagram post revealed something very important.

Zlatan’s statue might be half-naked.

Statues of gods almost always are at least half- if not fully naked, so this would seem very appropriate for Zlatan. No soccer player has ever been immortalized with a shirtless statue, though. Not even Cristiano Ronaldo’s statue is shirtless, and we all know how much Ronaldo despises shirts. This would be quite a statement by Zlatan.

Of course, the effigy is still a work in progress and there might be a shirt put on him when it’s all said and done. But either way, Zlatan seems very pleased with how it’s coming along. He even compared it to the most famous statue of all in a typically brilliant caption:

"When you come to New York you have the Statue of Liberty, when you come to Sweden you have the Statue of Zlatan. #comingsoon"

Paris must be kicking themselves right now. Remember when Zlatan suggested they replaced the Eiffel Tower with a statue of him? YOU COULD HAVE HAD THIS, PARIS!
