FIFA president Blatter says no to replays

Sepp Blatter remains adamant that soccer will not use replays to

review decisions as long as he is FIFA president.

Blatter said on Thursday that world soccer’s governing body will

“not use monitors to stop the game” and that bad refereeing

decisions must be accepted because “there are always errors in


Blatter’s time as FIFA chief could continue for some time, as he

confirmed again that he would stand for re-election in 2011 if

asked by FIFA’s Congress.

The FIFA president was in the United Arab Emirates to attend the

Club World Cup, which culiminates in Saturday’s final between

European champion Barcelona and South American champion

Estudiantes. He deemed the event a success that provides a

spotlight for worldwide club soccer.
