Wolves star sees bigger picture

Hammill was dropped for the last three matches before coming on at

half-time in Sunday’s 1-1 Premier League draw against local rivals

Birmingham City. And the winger told the Express and Star: “I see

the bigger picture – I’d rather stay up if it meant me not getting

game-time, so at least I can have a crack at the Premier League

next season. “I was a bit frustrated but it was the manager’s

decision and I respect that. I’m relatively new to the dressing

room so I respect the manager and what team he picks. “It can be

frustrating but I just had to keep my head down and carry on

working hard in training until I got my chance again. Fortunately

enough I got my chance yesterday.” Mick McCarthy’s side are

currently second-from-bottom in the Premier League with 34 points

from 35 games and three matches left this season.
