Watch Samuel Eto'o get embarrassed by Galatasaray's keeper 50 yards from his own goal

Last weekend wasn’t too kind to Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen, but at least one goalkeeper held the flag high for sweeper-keepers everywhere.

Galatasaray’s Fernando Muslera may not be known for too many forays to midfield like ter Stegen, Manuel Neuer or some of their peers, but boy did he catch the travel bug last weekend against Antalyaspor.

Rushing all the way out to the halfway line, Muslera even took the rare opportunity to destroy one of the legends of the game - Samuel Eto’o.

SMH. Didn’t anyone tell Muslera to respect his elders?

Poor Eto’o nearly slipped and cracked a hip right there. He nearly slid all the way into retirement on that play. Poor Eto’o probably sat at the dinner table that night, staring blankly down at his barely touched bowl of soup, contemplating if this is the end.

Maybe it’s not, though. Eto'o is 35 and he was still the Super Lig’s second top scorer last season with 20 goals. Wild.
