Walker: Top four in our sights

Kyle Walker insists that Tottenham are ready to make a push for

the top four and beyond this season.

Spurs have not made the best start under Andre Villas-Boas, and

are yet to register a win this season.

But Walker has told the fans to be patient as he feels Tottenham

are ready to make a big impact.

“It has been frustrating but football is frustrating at times.

The gaffer has been top class and the training is the hardest I

have ever done,” he told the Sunday Mirror.

“We are quite capable of going on a 12-match unbeaten run. We

have the players and we have the attitude. Then people won’t be

talking about the wobbly start. Top Four ? Yes – and why not higher

than that?”

With Villas-Boas already under-fire, Walker is ignoring stories

about the Portuguese tactician’s time at Chelsea, which came to a

premature end.

“Tottenham and Chelsea are different clubs with different

players. I always judge things for myself and I have found it great

working with him. There certainly hasn’t been any bickering,” he

said.

“I was eager to work with him after seeing what he did at

Chelsea with the full backs. He can take me to another level.

Ashley Cole had a tremendous season. I speak to Ashley whenever we

are with England and he hasn’t had a bad word to say about him.

“I am sure we will come good. We are working so hard on what we

do, we deserve it. We just have to get over what has happened and

in the next game you have to put it right.

“We need to concentrate that bit better. That has been part of

our training, playing and preparing not for 90 minutes but for

95.”
