Vidic vow ahead of Pool crunch

It has been suggested United might rest most of their top stars for

the home clash with relegation-threatened Blackpool with one eye on

the Champions League final against Barcelona. Vidic has reassured

Blackpool’s relegation rivals that United will treat the game

professionally and look to win the game so as not to hand the

Seasiders an unfair advantage over their fellow strugglers. “We

have to work hard, we have to prepare for the next game,” Vidic

told Sky Sports News. “Barcelona I have to say is the most

important game for us, but Blackpool we want to play well, we want

to play the best we can and we always expect to win games and we

will try to do that.” Vidic insists United will not sit on their

laurels now they have won a record 19th league title and is

confident there will be more to come in the future. “I think just

to win the title it means a lot especially after last year when we

didn’t win the league when we lost by just one point,” added Vidic.

“It is important [to win a 19th title], but I don’t think 19 will

the last one it will be many more I hope. “It’s important we have

won the most leagues in this country, but it is not something we

will stop and be happy with.”
