SANDY, Utah (AP) Real Salt Lake's affiliate in the National Women's Soccer League has been named the Utah Royals.

The team unveiled the nickname Friday, along with a team badge that features a Lioness head topped with a crown. The team's colors are claret red, cobalt blue and gold.

The Royals said they would unveil other aspects of the team's identity, including jerseys, before the league's college draft on Jan. 18. The team's roster already includes the players from the now-defunct FC Kansas City, which folded last month.

Former Seattle Reign coach Laura Harvey was named coach of Royals last week. Harvey, 37, coached the Reign for the last five seasons and was a two-time league Coach of the Year.

The Royals are the league's fourth team to be affiliated with a Major League Soccer team, joining the Portland Thorns, Houston Dash and Orlando Pride.

The 10-team NWSL wrapped up its fifth season this year.
