This long-range goal from Brazil’s second division is the nicest you’ll see today

It was a big soccer day on Saturday. All the club competitions returned from the international break and there were plenty of big matches in the English Premier League, the Bundesliga and La Liga.

But the best goal of Saturday doesn’t come from any of the top-shelf competitions. It arrives courtesy of Luiz Antônio in Brazil’s second division. Just take a look:

The defensive midfielder for Bahia could not have hit it any better than that. From about 40 yards out, the ball launches off his foot like a rocket and it nicks under the crossbar before bouncing in.

Everyone knows it’s a great goal too. The bench is cleared out as the players lose their minds, just like the home crowd does. That goal happened in just the 11th minute, but it certainly offered a good omen as Bahia would go on to beat Bragantino, 3-2.

Take a bow, Antonio. Your goal was perhaps the best highlight around the world today, and that’s no small feat.
