Spirit delights O’Driscoll

Bristol City manager Sean O’Driscoll promised his side will

battle to the end to secure their Championship status after they

earned a 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

The Robins boss refused to be drawn on whether Greg Cunningham

was unlucky to be yellow carded for diving when he could have been

awarded a penalty after a challenge from Kieran Lee.

Instead he refused to concentrate on his own side’s positive

performance, with Baldock’s goal cancelling out a first half effort

from Jermaine Johnson.

City remain seven points adrift at the bottom of the table but

they will take confidence from preventing fellow strugglers

Wednesday from leaving Ashton Gate with all three points.

“We deserved more. Our spirit has not been broken and we will

keep on battling,” said O’Driscoll.

“I am not going to comment on the penalty incident. The ref

called it as he saw it and I prefer to dwell on the positives in

our performance.

“Six more performances like that will do me, whatever the

outcome of our season.

“The players are doing all I and the fans can ask of them. The

supporters were fantastic today, even when we were a goal down, and

that augurs well for the future.”
