Shakhtar midfielder Douglas Costa targets ‘dream’ move to Chelsea
Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Douglas Costa says it would be "a dream" to play for Chelsea and Jose Mourinho.
Jose Mourinho said on Friday that there were unlikely to be any comings or goings at Stamford Bridge before the close of the transfer window, insisting it would take a "phenomenal offer" for him to consider selling Andre Schurrle and Mohamed Salah, who have both been linked with moves this month.
However, Wolfsburg officials are reported to be in London for talks over the signing of Schurrle, and that could tempt Mourinho into bids for Costa or Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado.
Costa has made it clear he would welcome a move to west London should the opportunity arise.
"To play at Chelsea is a dream for any player," the 24-year-old told GloboEsporte.
"It is standing next to some of the best players in the world and competing with the world’s best as well.
"But really, what catches my eye is the coach. He is a very intelligent coach and has been victorious wherever he went.
"One of the things that would make me happier to act at Chelsea would be this."
Costa added: "I also know that with Mourinho at Chelsea, my progress would be even greater.
"He has won just about everything. He is among the best, if not the best. He is at the top."
