Sevilla signs Vicente Iborra from Levante

Sevilla has signed holding midfielder Vicente Iborra from fellow

Spanish club Levante.

Levante says Sevilla met the undisclosed buyout clause. The

length of Iborra’s contract was also not disclosed.

Iborra spent the past six seasons with Levante’s first team and

had recently been appointed captain after the departure of Sergio

Ballesteros.

In return, Sevilla agreed to loan Senegalese striker Baba

Diawara to Levante for one season.

The arrival of the 25-year-old Iborra at Sevilla could clear the

way for Geoffrey Kondogbia to join one of several teams reportedly

interested in acquiring the young French player.

Sevilla plays its first game of the Spanish league season at

home against Atletico Madrid on Sunday. It will also compete in the

Europa League.
