Salihi, De Rosario lead DC past Rapids

D.C. United moved within a point of the lead in Major League

Soccer’s Eastern Conference by beating the Colorado Rapids 2-0 on

Wednesday.

Dwayne De Rosario scored in the first half, and Hamdi Salihi

added his first home goal in the second as D.C. edged within a

point of East leaders New York, who have two games in hand.

United is undefeated in six home games after opening the season

with a 1-0 loss to Kansas City.

The Rapids, who are mid-table in the West standings, have won

only one of 14 games in Washington since 2000.
