Rossoneri dismiss Rafa link

The 28-year-old Dutchman has been mentioned as a potential summer

signing for the Serie A title winners after impressing in his debut

campaign for Spurs. But former Real Madrid man Van der Vaart

revealed earlier this week he is keen to stay at White Hart Lane,

and Galliani doesn’t expect to see him in Milan. He told Football

Italia: “Van der Vaart? I think not.” Galliani has revealed a

left-sided midfielder is likely to be Milan’s sole transfer target

this summer after key players such as Mark van Bommel and

Alessandro Nesta recently extended their contracts. He said: “If

none of our top players leave, which I don’t think they will, then

Milan will make just one signing – a left-sided midfielder. “We are

sorted in defence with Philippe Mexes and Taye Taiwo. And fine in

attack if nobody departs.” Milan have been linked with a host of

top players, including Palermo’s Javier Pastore and Santos star

Ganso, but Galliani admits some targets are out of their price

range. He added: “They are players who are a little expensive and

nobody will offer us a discount.”
