Rosenborg become first Norwegian team to win domestic double two years running

Rosenborg have become the first team in Norwegian history to win two domestic doubles in a row, securing victory in the Norwegian Football Cup on Sunday after wrapping up the Tippeligaen well before the close of play in November.

The Trondheim-based club cruised past Kongsvinger 4-0 in the Norwegian Football Cup, skating to victory thanks largely due to a hat trick from Norwegian winger Pal Andre Helland. The clear class of Norway, Rosenborg dominated the Tippeligaen again this year, winning the league by 15 points, bettering the 12-point margin of 2015.

The victory against Kongsvinger made it the 11th national cup and a 9th domestic double for the side, but the first time in history a Norwegian club had done the double two years running. Norway's most successful ever side, Rosenborg haven't managed to translate that success to winning in Europe, although next season still holds the possibility of a treble. Until then, they'll have to settle for making history on the domestic front.

The best part? They celebrated the cup win with a mannequin challenge, and It Was Good:
