Rodgers confident over Britton

The 29-year-old midfielder is back in training after missing the

club’s 2-0 win over Stoke with a back problem. Britton had started

all six of Swansea’s Premier League matches before being forced out

of their defeat to Chelsea last month. Rodgers will assess

Britton’s fitness in the coming days, but the Swans boss remains

hopeful he will be fit to face the Canaries. “All being well Leon

will be ready for Norwich,” Rodgers told the South Wales Evening

Post. “He has responded well to treatment and we will see how he

goes over the next few days. “He will be a good option for us,

although we are not going to complain about the injury problems

we’ve had. “I have got honest players with quality and, whatever

team I put out, they will always do their best.” Rodgers has no

fresh injury concerns ahead of Swansea’s trip to Carrow Road on

Saturday and he believes his players will have benefited from the

international break. “We are in good shape,” he continued. “The

players have given everything this season. “They have had a little

rest now which will be good for them. “They come back motivated and

energised ahead of our next batch of games.”
