Players pick Tevez among the best

The Argentina international has been a pivotal figure for the Blues

since his controversial summer move from neighbours Manchester

United, scoring 28 goals in all competitions. United striker Wayne

Rooney has been installed as the overwhelming favourite to land the

award. Like Rooney, Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas has been selected

for both the main award, and the young player of the year prize.

Didier Drogba might not have hit the heights as consistently as in

other years, but his goals ensured Chelsea came through their rocky

patch and the Ivory Coast striker is also on the shortlist. City

goalkeeper Joe Hart is in contention for the PFA Young Player of

the Year award after a superb season on loan at Birmingham. Hart

will go up against Rooney, Fabregas and Aston Villa midfielder

James Milner for the gong.
