Here is a lesson in how not to deal with hecklers.

Sebastian Pol, a striker for Audax Italiano in Chile's top-flight, wasn't too pleased with what he was hearing from a fan over the weekend. So, he climbed over a guardrail at Catolica's stadium, into the stands and kicked the fan who was heckling him.

As you can see in the video above, the fan stumbles back after Pol's one-time strike, but luckily it doesn't appear the fan was hurt. Later, the video cameras catch police escorting the player out of the stadium. He later said the fan has insulted him but apologized for the incident, according to Reuters.

"I'm really full of regret for this," the Argentine player reportedly told media at the police station. "I apologize to him profusely. I didn’t mean to strike him, I just wanted to frighten him. It’s something new that life has taught me."

Formal charges for the incident have not been lodged yet, but it sounds like they are coming. The video doesn't lie and he has publicly admitted to kicking the fan, and Chile has laws against violence at stadiums in particular. The fan has reportedly said he intended to file a formal complaint.

For now, Pol has been banned from attending any sporting events for 20 days. The striker, who has played for clubs in Costa Rica, Romania and Bolivia, may also be suspended by the Chilean league.

The incident happened after Pol's side lost 4-1 at Universidad Catolica on Saturday. Pol was subbed into the game in the 62nd minute and didn't get on the score sheet.
