Paraguay defeats Ecuador 2-1

Cristian Riveros and Dario Veron scored in the second half to

give Paraguay a 2-1 victory over Ecuador on Friday in South

American World Cup qualifying.

Riveros scored in the 46th and Veron doubled the lead 10 minutes

later as Paraguay improved to four points from three matches.

Joao Rojas scored a stoppage-time consolation for Ecuador, which

has a win and a loss from its two games.

Ecuador will be at home on Tuesday against Peru and Paraguay

plays at Chile.
