Pandev unfazed by Inter talk

Former Lazio striker Goran Pandev claims he would not be daunted by

a sensational return to Serie A giants Inter Milan.

Pandev is a free agent after winning his legal battle against

Lazio to be released from his contract.

Speculation is rife that the 26-year-old is set to be

unveiled as an Inter player on January 2 when the transfer window

re-opens and will pen a five-year contract at the San Siro.

Pandev insists he has not signed anything yet but feels he is

more than ready for the challenge.

“In my career I have never been afraid of competition for

places because I have faith in my abilities,” he told Makedonjia

“Inter is a great club and matches my ambitions, which are to

fight for the various titles and play in the Champions League.

“But there is nothing yet sorted with the Nerazzurri club.”

Lazio were ordered to release Pandev from his contract by the

Lega Calcio earlier this week

The forward had been at Lazio since 2004 and quickly became a

firm fans’ favourite at the Stadio Olimpico.

However, matters turned sour last summer when Lazio revealed

they would not accept a bid of less than 19million euros for Pandev

after he filed a transfer request.

The Macedonia international was branded a “rebel” by club

president Claudio Lotito and frozen out of the squad, as well as

being forced to train separately from his former team-mates.

Pandev was under contract with the Nerazzurri for three years

but was shipped out on loan twice and never played a game for the

Italian giants.
