Newcastle target Taylor swoop

Magpies boss Alan Pardew is reported to have lined up a move for

the highly-rated full-back, should Spanish star Enrique be lured

away from St James’ Park this summer. A number of clubs are chasing

Enrique and Newcastle have targeted Taylor as his possible

replacement. Taylor, 22, has established himself as one of the best

defenders in the country after impressing for Swansea since his

arrival from Wrexham last summer. Taylor has broken into the Wales

side and he played a key role in helping Swansea win promotion to

the Premier League. However, it appears Swansea could lose the

former Manchester City youngster for as little as £1million

due to a buy-out clause in his contract at the Liberty Stadium.

Newcastle are ready to offer Taylor a lucrative deal to make the

move to St James’ Park this summer.
