Mulvey appointed Brisbane coach in A-League

Defending A-League football champion Brisbane has named

England-born Mike Mulvey as its new head coach, replacing Rado

Vidosic who has been re-assigned as technical director.

Vidosic had coached the team since the resignation in April of

Ange Postecoglou, who led Brisbane to the league title in 2011 and

2012.

Brisbane has won only three of its 11 matches so far this

season, dropping to ninth place on the 10-team ladder.

Mulvey was previously caretaker coach of the now defunct Gold

Coast United A-League team and coached the Melbourne Victory in the

Australian women’s league.

Brisbane general manager Sean Dobson said Mulvey would join the

club immediately.
