MONTREAL (AP) Defender Laurent Ciman scored off a header in the 88th minute to give the Montreal Impact a 1-0 victory over the Seattle Sounders on Saturday night at Saputo Stadium.

Ciman connected on off Marco Donadel’s free kick for his second goal of the season.

Montreal (7-8-3) won for the sixth time in seven home matches and scored at home for the 21st consecutive game dating to Aug. 2, 2014.

Former Impact goalkeeper Troy Perkins made five saves for Seattle (10-10-2).

The Sounders did not have a shot on target all game.

The Sounders were without midfielder Clint Dempsey, playing for the U.S. in the Gold Cup.


HOUSTON (AP) – Brad Davis had a goal and an assist in the first half, helping Houston beat Los Angeles.

The Dynamo (7-8-6) took control in the ninth minute when Will Bruin settled Davis’ diagonal cross and smashed home a left-footer. Davis then added a long-range strike from behind the top of the circle in the 27th minute.

Leonel Miranda capped the scoring in the 88th minute, juking two Galaxy defenders and finishing with a chip shot.

The Galaxy (9-7-7) entered the match in second place in the Western Conference, having won four of their last five. But they struggled to match Houston’s energy with temperatures in the 90s.

Erick Torres made his Dynamo debut as a substitute in the 69th minute. Torres signed with Houston as a Designated Player on Dec. 23, 2014, after an all-star season for defunct Chivas USA.


COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Jozy Altidore drew a penalty in the box and converted it from the spot in the 89th minute to complete Toronto FC’s three-goal rally against Columbus.

The Crew’s Waylon Francis took Altidore down with a push in the back near the 6-yard box. Altidore buried the penalty kick into the left corner of the goal.

Toronto FC (8-7-4) trailed by three early in the second half before Sebastian Giovinco and Collen Warner quickly cut the deficit one with a pair of goals in the 50th and 55th minutes.

Kei Kamara opened the scoring in the 17th minute for the Crew (8-7-7) with his MLS-leading 15th goal. Tony Tchani connected in the 36th, and Ethan Finlay in the 48th.


FRISCO, Texas (AP) – Michael Barrios scored two goals to help FC Dallas beat Portland for its fifth straight victory.

Barrios, who came into the match with one career MLS goal, opened the scoring from the right corner of the 6-yard box in the 12th minute. Ten minutes later, Barrios gave FC Dallas (11-5-5) a 2-0 lead when he found the net from the top of the area.

Kellyn Acosta scored in 69th, and Mauro Diaz on a penalty kick in the 87th.

Fanendo Adi’s penalty kick, after Lucas Melano drew a foul, in stoppage time gave Portland (9-8-5) its first road goal in MLS action since a 2-1 win over Colorado on May 30.


BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (AP) – New England’s Kelyn Rowe scored the tying goal moments after the Chicago Fire took a late 2-1 lead, and the Revolution escaped with a draw.

Razvan Cocis put away the rebound off a shot by Matt Watson to give the Fire (5-11-4) their first lead in the 75th minute but, moments later, Chris Tierney found Rowe for the tying goal.

The Revolution (7-9-7) opened the scoring when Scott Caldwell’s shot from just outside the left side of the box ricocheted off of Chicago goalkeeper Sean Johnson and Lee Nguyen found the back of the net. It was Nguyen’s second consecutive game with a goal.

David Accam drew a foul on Jose Goncalves just inside the box and Chicago’s Shaun Maloney buried the penalty kick to even the match in the 44th minute.
