McCann seemed set to miss the rest of the season after tearing both his cruciate and medial ligament in the win over
The injury would normally require surgery and a year on the sidelines, but McCann is making a rapid recovery.

“That would have been so hard to take. All my life and all my career I had dreamed of this, playing every week in the Premier League and it would have been so cruel to have that taken away.
“All you want to do is get out and play but you have no idea when you will be back.
“Then we had about nine weeks before the next stage, but that’s when I got the good news, that it was healing well. It basically healed itself. The doctors said it was a miracle.”
