Mario Beretta takes over at PAOK

Greek first division club PAOK says it has hired Italian coach

Mario Beretta on a two-year contract.

The manager’s job had been vacant since Portuguese coach

Fernando Santos stepped down last month for personal reasons after

three years in charge.

Beretta’s previous coaching career included spells with Chievo,

Siena and Parma in Italy.

His first task will be to prepare the side for the third

qualifying round of the Champions League after PAOK finished top of

the four-team, six round Greek league playoffs for European

competitions.
