BERLIN — Forward Marco Reus has pulled out of Germany’s European Championship qualifier against Gibraltar on Friday and a friendly against Spain next week.
The German Football Federation says Reus injured his left ankle in Borussia Dortmund’s 1-0 Bundesliga victory over Borussia Moenchengladbach Sunday.
Reus missed the World Cup because of an injury. Germany also will be missing Chelsea’s Andre Schuerrle, Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil, Schalke’s Julian Draxler and Bayern Munich’s Bastian Schweinsteiger for the next two matches.

The team received the country’s highest honor for sports Monday for winning the World Cup title in Brazil in July.
President Joachim Gauck, joined by Chancellor Angela Merkel, presented the players with the Silver Laurel Leaf in a ceremony at the head of state’s Bellevue Palace.
