Mancini: Bridge fine to face Tigers

Bridge has been out for two months after injuring his knee against

former club Chelsea, since when his life has been turned upside

down by the alleged relationship between his former girlfriend and

John Terry. Mancini has spoken with the 29-year-old left-back about

his return but feels Bridge is in the right state of mind to play

and intends to include him at the KC Stadium. “Wayne can play on

Saturday,” said Mancini. “He has been working with us for 10 days

now and there are no problems.” Mancini is trying to avoid

discussion of Bridge’s personal situation for fear of dragging the

matter out longer than necessary. “The private side is not

important,” said Mancini. “He has been working very well on the

pitch. That is what is important. “He is a fantastic man and a

fantastic player.” Meanwhile, Mancini confirmed Patrick Vieira

could also make his long-awaited City debut after overcoming a calf

problem sustained prior to his move from Inter Milan last month.

Joleon Lescott is set for a place on the bench after the

£22million defender shrugged off his own knee injury.
