Big-spending City were linked with Krasic in the summer prior to his move to Turin from CSKA Moscow.
Krasic will come up against City in their Europa League meeting on Thursday and Mancini is a big admirer of the 25-year-old, who scored a hat-trick in a 4-2 Serie A home win over Cagliari at the weekend.
The Italian claims he made overtures to sign Krasic while he was in charge of Inter Milan and also at Eastlands, but failed on both occasions.
"He’s a player I have always followed, I tried to sign him when I was Inter coach and I tried again when I arrived at City," he said.
