Manchester United v Tottenham preview

United are again without strikers Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen for

visit of Spurs. Rooney is resting an ankle problem which could keep

him out for longer than the three weeks first feared while Owen

suffered a hamstring injury in training this week. The former

Liverpool forward is expected to be out for four to five weeks.

Veteran Ryan Giggs is also missing with a hamstring injury but

should return to training on Monday. Jonny Evans could come back

into contention after a hip injury. Tottenham will once again be

without Tom Huddlestone against the Red Devils. The midfielder has

failed to recover from the groin injury that forced him to miss

last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Everton. Captain Ledley King and

Vedran Corluka (both groin) are still out, while Jermain Defoe,

Michael Dawson (both ligament damage), Jamie O’Hara (back) and

Jonathan Woodgate (groin) are long-term absentees. Kick-off at Old

Trafford is 5:30pm. United (from): Van der Sar, O’Shea, Brown,
