Magath: No Brum bid for Kuranyi

Schalke coach Felix Magath has rejected reports claiming that

Premier League outfit Birmingham have made a bid for striker Kevin

Kuranyi.

Reports emanating from England have suggested the Blues are

lining up a January swoop for the Germany international as they

look to bolster their attacking options.

Kuranyi’s future at Schalke has been the subject of

speculation with his current deal due to expire in the summer, with

Birmingham reportedly ready to make the 27-year-old a lucrative

offer to lure him to St Andrews.

However, Magath insists Schalke have had no contact with City

regards Kuranyi, with reports in Germany suggesting they are

planning to offer the forward a new deal to keep him at the club.

“I have received nothing from Birmingham City (for Kevin

Kuranyi),” Magath told Westfalische Allgemeine.

Meanwhile, Schalke are understood to have rejected an offer

from Flamengo to extend the loan deal of Ze Roberto.

Ze Roberto’s loan deal with Flamengo is due to expire next

month and the Brazilian club have expressed an interest in keeping

him for a further 18 months.

Schalke have rebuffed their overtures as they are planning to

sell the 29-year-old in the January transfer window.
