Leverkusen goalie Leno has surgery on right elbow

Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno will miss Wednesday’s

German Cup tie at Arminia Bielefeld after undergoing surgery on his

right elbow.

Leverkusen says Leno needed the operation to cure long-standing

pain caused by bursitis, which became worse after the side’s 2-1

Bundesliga win at Bayern Munich on Sunday.

It was unclear how long the 20-year-old would remain out of

action.

Joint-coach Sami Hyypia says ”he’s definitely out against

Bielefeld. We’ll see after that.”

Forward Karim Bellarabi will also miss the visit to third-tier

Bielefeld because of a groin injury.
