League rejects appeal on Ibrahimovic ban

The Italian league has rejected an appeal from AC Milan to

reduce Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s three-match ban for insulting a

linesman.

Ibrahimovic has already sat out a 3-0 win over Sampdoria last

weekend, and he’ll also miss games against Brescia and Bologna.

Ibrahimovic was also banned for punching a defender in the

stomach last month. That ban was reduced from three to two matches

on appeal.

Milan has a six-point lead over Napoli at the top of the table,

with five matches remaining in Serie A.

Ibrahimovic was expected to play against Palermo in the first

leg of the Italian Cup semifinals Wednesday.
