Bale is one of the hottest properties in world football following his exploits in the Champions League with Spurs this season.
The likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and AC Milan have all been credited with an interest in the Welshman and former Spurs man Boateng expects all of Europe’s top clubs to be in for him over the summer.
"Gareth was the player all the Milan players have been talking about, because of his pace and left foot," Boateng told The Mirror.
"When I played here there were talents like Gareth and Aaron Lennon, but they have improved a lot.
"I think the whole of Europe is after Gareth, because he is a great player.
"The way he played against Inter was impressive and everyone said: ‘Who is this player? We need to get him.’
"I think it will be difficult for Tottenham to keep him but he is feeling good here in London, so we will see in the summer what is going to happen.
"With his quality, his pace and his strength, he could do well in any league."
