Juventus president wants fans to avoid racism
Juventus president Jean-Claude Blanc has made a written appeal to fans urging them to behave properly and avoid racist taunts during Saturday’s highly awaited game with Serie A leader Inter Milan.
Juventus was ordered to play one game in an empty stadium last season after fans abused Inter’s 19-year-old forward Mario Balotelli, who is of Ghanaian descent. The club has also been fined this season for racism directed at Balotelli.
In an appeal posted on Juve’s Web site Thursday, Blanc wrote that he wants the fans to be “passionate,” but “not excessive, or worse, offensive.”
