Juventus deny Didier Drogba offer, admit Real Madrid’s interest in Vidal
Juventus have denied having an interest in signing Didier Drogba.
The Italian champions have been strongly linked with the veteran Ivory Coast striker, who is a free agent after leaving Galatasaray.
Former club Chelsea have also been linked with a shock move for the 36-year-old – who it appears is not on Juve’s agenda.
Juventus’ chief executive officer Beppe Marotta stated: "Drogba is a free agent and we have been offered him.
"But we have not taken him into consideration."
Speaking at an event at the Bocconi University in Milan, he also spoke about Juventus’ other transfer situations – including their interest in Alexis Sanchez and their hopes of keeping Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba.
"Sanchez is a player we really appreciate, but for the moment we haven’t moved yet," he said.
"We have clear ideas. We’re a winning team that has a leader for a coach and for this reason, I’m excluding the possible departures of our stars.
"Real Madrid have shown an appreciation of Vidal, but that’s it. And with Pogba we hope to meet in the coming weeks to renew his contract."
