Hector Cuper takes over as coach of Aris
Hector Cuper has officially taken over as coach of Greek league club Aris Thessaloniki.
The 54-year-old Argentine coach is replacing Iomar Mazinho, who was fired late last month after a series of poor results.
The Thessaloniki club is fifth in the 16-team league standings with 14 points, 11 behind leader Panathinaikos and second-place Olympiakos.
Cuper, who previously coached Inter Milan, Valencia and Mallorca, signed a contract for the rest of the season with an option for another year. No financial terms were announced.
Aris next plays on Saturday against Kavala, a club promoted to the top flight after 28 years in lower divisions.
