Guardiola open to Prem post

The 39-year-old coach is still a relative novice when it comes to

management, having only taken charge at Camp Nou in 2008. He has,

however, enjoyed remarkable success in his short time at the helm,

guiding Barca to domestic, European and global titles aplenty.

Guardiola knows that nothing can last forever, though, and accepts

that there will become a time when he is forced to relinquish the

reins. When that day comes, the former Spain international admits

that he would welcome the opportunity to work in the Premier

League, having missed out on the chance to turn out in England

during his playing days. “As a player I was interested but it was

not possible,” said Guardiola. “I would not rule it out. “It is not

something I have planned yet but because of the nature of this job,

I know I will not be here forever or even for many years. “I don’t

rule it out but neither is it something I am planning at the

moment.” Guardiola is reported to have attracted interest from

Chelsea in the recent past, while Arsenal and Manchester United

view him as a possible long-term replacement for their long-serving

bosses Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson.
