Gordon fears season may be over

Gordon had hoped to play a part for Scotland in Sunday’s friendly

defeat by Brazil, but he was not risked by national boss Craig

Levein at the Emirates. And the former Hearts player has been

forced to concede that he is still struggling to overcome a

tendinitis problem. “My fight right now is trying to get fit. I’ll

cross the next bridge when I come to it,” he told The Northern

Echo. “I’m not very close to being fully fit to be honest. I go

back to see the specialist in the middle of next month. “It’s a

possibility (that I will not be fully fit until next season). A

strong possibility. I’ll need to wait and see what the doctor says.

I’m in his hands and he will tell me what I’m capable of doing from

there.” He added: “Recently I’ve had a run of injuries but if I can

get myself fit then I have no doubt that my ability will get me

back playing.”
