Goalkeepers shine as Hull-Stoke ends 0-0

Goalkeepers Asmir Begovic and Allan McGregor ensured a goalless

draw between Hull and Stoke at the KC Stadium on Saturday with a

point serving both sides well enough in their attempt to move

further away from the Premier League’s relegation zone.

Begovic kept Hull out with good saves from Ahmed Elmohamady and

Yannick Sagbo before the break and Hull `keeper McGregor twice

prevented Peter Crouch from scoring in the last half hour.

McGregor’s first save from Crouch – a one-handed stop from just

a couple of yards – gave Stephen Ireland a chance but his tap home

was flagged offside.

Ryan Shawcross headed against the crossbar but Hull held out and

now boasts the best home defensive record in the division, with

just three goals conceded in eight games.
