Gekas signs for Frankfurt
Greece striker Fanis Gekas has signed a two-year contract with
Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 30-year-old Gekas left Greece’s World Cup training camp in
Switzerland briefly to sign the contract on Wednesday.
Eintracht paid ?1 million ($1.2 million) to Bayer Leverkusen in
transfer fees. Gekas played the second half of the last season on
loan to Hertha Berlin, which was relegated.
Gekas topped the Bundesliga with 20 goals in the 2006-07 season,
when he played for Bochum.
