French youth prodigy scores majestic overhead volley
Overhead-kick goals, when timed to perfection, are a thing of beauty.
A combination of timing and precision are critical, and boy does Paulin Puel possess both.
Puel, an 18-year-old product of the Nice youth system in France, has accumulated a baker’s dozen of Ligue 1 appearances throughout his fledgling career. But his most recent outing came with the Under-19s against Monaco, and the striker, whose father, Claude, manages the club’s senior side, may want to think about granting his son a few extra starting nods.
Demonstrating the agility of a practiced professional, Puel netted a truly breathtaking overhead volley that you won’t have seen.

Woof. Between the sublime first touch to tee himself up, intentional or not, and the end product, we might as well change the Puskas award to the ‘Puel’ award.
