Edinson Cavani's backheel goal shouldn't have counted, but we can still watch and enjoy

Edinson Cavani catches a lot of heat (probably too much, really) for some of his glaring misses, but the Uruguayan is still a top-class striker. On Saturday he showed why he belongs in that tier, with a silky little backheel finish in PSG's 2-0 win against Bordeaux.

That's some reaction time right there, and quite a flourish to collect his second goal of the day. A backheel from Lucas Moura to Layvin Kurzawa actually set up the goal, so I guess we know what Paris St. Germain were practicing during their training sessions.

There's one minor detail that takes some gloss off of the goal, though. Kurzawa was definitely offside before playing the ball into Cavani.

The argument could be made that Cavani was even a touch offside on the ball that Kurzawa played in. Either way, the flag stayed down and the goal was adjudged to be a good one, much to the chagrin of Bordeaux and their fans.

Cavani's brace for the day put him alone atop the Ligue 1 top-scorers table with eight goals in eight weeks. Later in the match, Cavani even tried his luck at a second backheel goal, but the save was made. That would have been one heck of a way to collect his hat trick!
