Denmark striker Tomasson quits national team

Denmark striker forward Jon Dahl Tomasson says he is retiring

from the national team.

Tomasson says he has ended ”an important chapter in my

life.”

The 33-year-old Feyenoord striker joined the squad 13 years ago,

and played 112 times and 52 scored goals. Ahead of the World Cup,

Danish media criticized him for not having scored for the national

side in more than two years.

In South Africa, he scored against Japan in the 3-1 loss. The

Danes were ousted from the tournament while Japan advanced.
