Watch 3 players get red cards in just 32 seconds after chaos breaks out

If there’s one rule that soccer players need to remember in the heat of the moment, it’s this: Do not touch the referee. Just don’t. It’s not going to help you.

Players from Toluca in Copa MX learned that the hard way on Thursday when three — yes three — players saw red cards in the span of about 30 seconds. It started with a legit card on a sloppy tackle and then everything descended quickly into chaos:

We don’t know exactly what the referee is saying, but the announcer does a very convincing (and hilarious) impression of the ref saying “No me toques!” (“Do not touch me!”) halfway through the video.

Jesus Mendez’s yellow card (which was his second of the game) for a late tackle was fair and he didn't have much to argue about. If only goalkeeper Alfredo Talavera and midfielder Enrique Triverio left the ref alone, both of them would’ve been able to finish the match.

Toluca closed out the match with eight men, but held onto the 2-2 score from before the chaos and the match went to penalty kicks. Their luck ran out though as Morelia buried all of their first three PKs and Toluca missed all of their first three.

Toluca are out of Copa MX now, but they sure went out in style.
